I found this recipe in a publication in 1972, and have been making ever since.It is Polynesian and so delicious. Ingredients:
2 ounces mild pork sausage |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1/2 ounce black bean sauce (optional) |
1 teaspoon curry powder |
12 ounces raw peeled shrimp, cut in half |
1 teaspoon gin |
1 large green pepper, cut in strips |
1 large onion, sliced into thin wedges |
1 cup chicken broth |
1 tablespoon catsup |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon accent seasoning (optional) |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
2 tablespoons water |
2 tomatoes, cut into wedges |
Directions:
1. In large skillet cook pork sausage,garlic,black bean till meat is browned. 2. Add curry powder,shrimp;cook till shrimp turns pink.Add gin,green pepper, onion and chicken broth. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer 3 minutes.Stir in catsup, salt, sugar and Accent. 3. Blend 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water; add to shrimp mixture. Cook and stir till mixture thickens and boils. 4. Add tomatoes; cover and cook 1 minute more. 5. Serve with rice. |
