Shortbread Toffee Squares |

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
4 tablespoons sugar |
1 cup self-rising flour |
1/4 cup butter |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk |
1/4 cup pecans, chopped |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
4 ounces german sweet chocolate, melted in |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. Cream 1/2 stick butter with 4 T sugar. 2. Blend in flour. 3. Spread onto greased 8-inch square pan, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. 4. Mix together next 4 ingredients and cook, stirring until mixture leaves the side of the pan. 5. Add vanilla. 6. Pour over shortbread. 7. Cool. 8. Spread melted chocolate over toffee. 9. Cool. 10. Cut into squares. |
