This cake is moist and dense. Not gooey, but I think it is pretty good! Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 3/4 cup sugar |
1 tbsp vanilla |
3 large eggs |
1 cup cocoa |
2 1/4 cups flour |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 3/4 cup milk |
frosting |
1 cup butter |
4 cups powdered sugar |
3/4 cup cocoa |
2 tsp. vanilla |
4-6 tbsp milk |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour two or three 9-inch cake pans. Three pans makes each layer rather thin, but they bake fast. 2. In large bowl cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. 3. Add eggs. Mix until well combined. 4. Sift together cocoa, flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. 5. Add to butter mixture alternately with the milk. 6. Divide batter into pans. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. 7. Frosting: 8. Whip butter until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. 9. Adjust the consistency by adding milk or powdered sugar. |
