Sharon's Italian Doughnuts

My friend Sharon gave me this unique donut recipe. They are delicious and you can vary the flavour by changing or combining some of the ingredients : the raisins, nuts, currants etc.
Ingredients:
5 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
8 eggs, beaten
1 cup melted margarine
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup walnuts or 1/2 cup cherries or 1/2 cup currants, etc
milk, as needed
hot oil (fill wok 1/3 of the way up)
Directions:
1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
2. Add the liquids and mix.
3. Add a little milk to make it moist.
4. Add raisins (or nuts etc).
5. Mix.
6. Drop by teaspoonsful into hot oil.
7. Cook until brown.
8. Drain.
