This was adapted from Paula Deen's recipe. We used deer and wild boar meet instead of beef and turkey. It was absolutely delicious! Ingredients:
2 lbs ground deer meat |
1 lb ground pork |
2 large onions |
3 cups water |
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce |
2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
3 bay leaves |
2 tablespoons italian seasoning |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon seasoning salt |
2 cups elbow macaroni |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, brown the deer and pork. 2. Spoon off excess grease, but do not drain completely. 3. Add onions and cook until tender. 4. Add 3 cups water,tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, soy sause, salt, black pepper, garlic powder and seasoned salt. 5. Cook covered for 20-25 minutes. 6. Add the Elbow Macaroni, cover and continue to simmer for about 20 minutes. 7. Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves and let sit about 30 minutes. |
