Our families favorite recipe Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups dried lentils |
5 slices bacon, finely chopped |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 cup diced carrot |
1/2 garlic clove, finely chopped |
2 cups raw diced potatoes |
1/2 cup tomato puree |
1 lb polish sausage |
2 bay leaves |
6 cups cold water |
4 cups beef stock |
1 tablespoon salt |
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar |
1 cup leek, thinly sliced |
Directions:
1. Saute bacon, celery, carrots, potatoes. 2. add the rest of the ingredients, and simmer until lentils are tender and vegetables are to desired doneness. |
