This is great for a potluck or any holiday meal. One of my favorites that my mom usually makes. Ingredients:
6 cups chopped lettuce |
salt and pepper |
paprika |
6 hard boiled eggs, sliced |
2 cups frozed peas, thawed |
1 lb bacon, cooked crisp, drained and crumbled |
2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese |
1 cup mayo |
1 1/2 tbsp sugar |
1/4 cup sliced green onions with tops |
Directions:
1. Place 3 cups of lettuce in bottom of large bowl, sprinkle with salt and pepper. 2. Layer egg slices over lettuce, sprinkle with salt and pepper. 3. Layer peas. 4. Layer rest of lettuce, sprinkle with salt and pepper. 5. Layer crumbled bacon. 6. Layer shredded cheese. 7. Combine mayo and sugar; spread over top to edges of bowl. 8. Cover and chill 24 hours or overnight (I think 24 hours is better..personal opinion). 9. Garnish with green onions and paprika. 10. Make sure to toss good before serving. |
