This is a wonderful side dish! It has an oriental flair but it tastes wonderful with pork chops, chicken, beef or even lamb chops! Ingredients:
4 cups fresh broccoli florets |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
4 teaspoons rice wine vinegar |
4 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted |
Directions:
1. Place the broccoli in a steamer basket; place in a saucepan over about 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil; cover and steam for 5-7 minutes. Broccoli should be crisp tender. 2. While broccoli is cooking, combine sugar, oil, soy sauce and vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring continuously until sugar is dissolved. 3. Place broccoli to a serving bowl. Drizzle the sauce over the broccoli and then sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds. |
