An ingredient sometimes used in asian cooking. Ingredients:
2 cups sesame seeds |
3 teaspoons salt |
Directions:
1. Place sesame seeds in a strainer and run water over the seeds, wetting them throughly. 2. Place in a cast iron pan over low heat. Stir the seeds constanly to ensure even browning and plumping, about 4-5 minutes. Do not burn the seeds. 3. Remove from stove and sprinkle with salt. Pound, mash or blend the seeds until they turn into a fine powder. 4. Store in a glass jar. |
