I enjoy roasting green beans, as it changes the texture of the vegetable. The green beans in this recipe turn out tender with chewy, browned sides and a nutty flavor from the sesame oil. I like to add sesame seeds during the last 15 minutes of roasting time for a little extra toasted nuttiness and crunch. Ingredients:
1 lb green beans, trimmed |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 teaspoon sesame oil |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon ginger, ground |
1 tablespoon sesame seeds |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 2. In a large bowl, toss all ingredients (except sesame seeds) until green beans are coated thoroughly. 3. Spread beans onto a large baking sheet in one layer. 4. Roast for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, roughly turn beans over with a spatula and spread out to one layer once more. Sprinkle evenly with sesame seeds. 5. Return to oven and roast for another 15 minutes. 6. Remove from oven, serve and enjoy! |
