This is a Modern Australian appetizer. Very good. Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground chicken |
1/2 med onion, chopped finely |
1 clove garlic, crushed |
1/2 tsp ground ginger |
2 tsp cornflour |
1 egg white, lightly beaten |
6 thin slices white bread |
1/4 c. sesame seeds |
oil for frying |
Directions:
1. Combine chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, cornflour and egg white in bowl. 2. Remove crusts from bread; spread chicken mixture over 1 side of each slice. 3. Dip bread, chicken-side-down, into sesame seeds to coat. 4. Cut each slice into 4 triangles, then cut each triangle in half again. 5. Heat about 2” of vegetable oil in a deep skillet, until hot (about 350ºF) 6. Fry the triangles in hot oil until well browned, turning once. Drain on paper towels and serve hot. |
