Quick, easy, and flavorful way to serve the misunderstood veggie... Ingredients:
1 pound fresh brussels sprouts |
2 tbsp sesame seeds (can use toasted) |
1/4 cup soy sauce (i used reduce sodium) |
1 tbsp evoo (extra virgin olive oil) |
2 tbsp sugar |
dash of salt |
Directions:
1. Wash Brussels sprout thoroughly, remove discolored leaves. 2. Cut off stem ends and slash the bottom end with a shallow X. 3. Place sprouts in a small amount of boiling water, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for ~ 8 minutes, or until tender. 4. Drain sprouts, set aside. 5. Brown sesame seeds in hot oil. Remove from heat; add soy sauce, sugar, salt (optional), stirring will. 6. Pour over warm Brussels sprouts, tossing gently. 7. Serve immediately. |
