This is a Chinese cabbage salad with ramen noodles and almonds added for crunch. Ingredients:
1 head chinese cabbage |
1 bunch green onion |
2 1/2 ounces sesame seeds |
2 1/4 ounces almonds, sliced |
2 -3 ounces ramen noodles |
2 garlic cloves |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1/4 cup rice vinegar |
1/2 cup sugar |
3/4 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Rinse cabbage, slice and chop onions and cabbage. 2. Combine these two ingredients in a large bowl and chill until just prior to serving. 3. Break noodles into tiny pieces, while still in the bags, remove seasoning packets (do not use them). 4. Saute noodles, sesame seeds, garlic in oil until lightly browned; add salt and pepper. Store in refrigerator. 5. Combine soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and oil and boil for no more than 1 minute. Store in refrigerator. 6. Just before serving, combine everything and toss gently. 7. NOTE: You may also add cooked chicken and/or orange slices. |
