Semiya Kesari Or Vermicelli Dessert |

I have fond memory of the Semiya Kesari with silky texture , mom made for my birthday . So simple to make and it tastes awesome . Ingredients:
1 c vermicelli |
1/2 to 3/4 c sugar |
1 1/2 to 2 c water |
2 tbsp ghee |
pinch of cardamom powder |
10 cashew nuts |
20 raisins |
pinch of colour powder |
Directions:
1. In a pan put one teaspoon ghee and fry the vermicelli till light brown. 2. Set aside . 3. In the same pan add one tsp of ghee and fry the cashew nuts and raisins. 4. Add the water and bring to boil. 5. Add the vermicelli and cook till soft . 6. Add sugar and the colour . 7. Mix well . 8. Cook till it thickens in low flame . 9. Add remaining ghee ( optional ) 10. Stir thoroughly and transfer it to a glass bowl. 11. When cool cut into desired shape . |
