I remember my mom making these once, when I was little and anti-brown anything . I admit I didn't appreciate them then, but they are delicious (and healtthy) to my more mature tastebuds. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
2 tbsp wheat germ |
4 tsp baking powder |
1 tsp salt |
1/3 cup canola oil |
2/3 cup nonfat milk |
1/4 cup sesame seeds |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425F. 2. Combine all dry ingredients (except seeds) in a large bowl. 3. Add oil and blend until crumbly. 4. Add milk in one addition and stir to make a soft, sticky dough. 5. Knead on a floured board 10 minutes, then roll out about 1/3 thick. 6. Cut into rounds and brush with water, then press each into seeds to coat both sides. 7. Bake on ungreased sheets 12-15 minutes. |
