Classic and easy recipe for Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies, from Gloria Pitzer (recipe detective) She is good. You use a cake mix to start, how easy is that. (no eggs!) Update: I just made these and they are good, I would add some chopped pecans and reduce choco chips to half a bag. Ingredients:
18 oz box yellow cake mix.... |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup self rising flour |
1 cup hellman's mayonaise |
12 oz bag of quality mini chocolate chips |
pam for baking sheet |
Directions:
1. As listed, take all the ingredients (except the Chocolate Chips) and beat together to smooth dough.
2. Preheat oven to 350.
3. Add Chocolate Chips.
4. Mix lightly.
5. Using a tablespoon , measure dough and level off in bowl and add to sprayed cooking sheet.
6. Bake at 15 minutes.. (Watch after 12 minutes, I like undercooked a bit)
7. Let stand a few minutes on sheet that cool on wire rack.
8. Send family member out for milk.
9. Enjoy.
