Generic seasoned rice recipe suitable for use with almost any curry dish.
Ingredients:
brown long grain/basmaati rice
tarragon
saffron
turmeric
Directions:
1. Boil Water
2. Add 2 cups water per portion
3. Add 1/2 cup of rice per portion to a collander or sieve. Wash several times under cold running water.
4. Place rice in a pan and add water
5. Add a few strands of saffron, chopped or ground per portion
6. Add 1/2 level tsp of turmeric per portion.
7. Add taragon, 1/2 heaped tsp per portion or therabouts.
8. Boil like hell until rice is soft or pan is almost dry. Generally when water has all been absorbed, rice is cooked.
9. Fork up a little to lighten, then serve.
10. Garnish with a sprig of parsley for effect.
