Simple side dish that most country cooking includes. Ingredients:
2 -15 oz. cans green beans |
1/4 cup chopped onion |
3 strips crisp bacon |
1 tablespoon bacon grease |
salt and coarse ground pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Empty green beans into sauce pan, add chopped onion and bacon grease. 2. Put lid on pan and bring to a boil. 3. Turn heat low and simmer until onion is completely cooked. 4. Crumble bacon and add to green beans. Salt and pepper to taste. 5. Continue simmering on very low heat for another 5 minutes. 6. Serve |
