This is a simple and healthier way to have croutons on hand for salads and soups. Ingredients:
2 tbs. olive oil |
1/2 tsp garlic powder |
1/4 tsp onion powder |
1/4 tsp dried oregano |
1/4 tsp dried basil |
6 slices whole wheat bread |
Directions:
1. In a 9x13 baking pan combine the oil, garlic, onion, oregano, and basil. 2. Heat for 5 minutes in a 300 degree oven. 3. Cut bread into cubes and stir so all bread is coated. 4. Bake at 300 degrees for 12- 15 minutes or until lightly browned. ( be sure to stir the bread every couple of minutes ) 5. Cool and store in an air tight container in the fridge. |
