Seared Albacore Sashimi Ingredients:
fresh albacore |
salt and pepper |
vegetable oil |
icy water |
soy sauce |
wasabi |
daicon radish |
japanese shiso leaf |
Directions:
1. Start with a nice long piece of sushi grade albacore. (Don't bring to room temperature). 2. Salt, and apply plenty of black pepper- don't be shy. 3. Put a little oil in a non sick pan and get it really hot. 4. Sear the Albacore for about 10-15 seconds per side. 5. Remove Albacore and immediately submerge it in icy water for about one minute. 6. Take a really sharp filet knife and thinly slice. 7. Serve on a bed of grated Daicon Radish and a Japanese Shiso Leaf (be sure to eat some of the delicious Shiso Leaf and Daicon)! 8. Also serve with wasabi and soy sauce. 9. Oishi!!! |
