Scrumptious Summer Squash

My family ususually doesn't eat squash but they liked this recipe. I used Ritz crackers on the top. Couldn't think of the proper generic name to call those crackers. You won't necessary use the whole roll of crackers.
Ingredients:
2 lbs yellow squash
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 egg
1 (8 ounce) package crackers
butter
Directions:
1. Cut squash into small pieces and cook in water until tender. Add chopped onion to squash. Add salt, pepper, stick of butter and cheese. Teat the egg and add it to the squash mixture. Pour in a casserole dish. Crush crackers and put on top of casserole. Dot with butter. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until top is brown.
