Serve with cornbread, cornbread casserole, or dinner rolls. Maybe over rice. Ingredients:
1 lb dried great northern beans |
water |
1 meaty ham bone |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
2 bunches green onions, chopped |
1 teaspoon basil |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1 teaspoon thyme |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper |
1/2 teaspoon white pepper |
2 beef bouillon cubes |
6 cups water |
Directions:
1. Wash and sort beans. Soak overnight in crockpot. Beans should be covered by at least a couple inches of water. 2. In the morning, drain off soaking water. Put beans, ham bone, seasonings, and 6 cups of water in crockpot. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. |
