Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon clove |
1 cup applesauce |
2/3 cup butterscotch chips, melted |
3/4 cup pecans, chopped |
1/2 cup flaked coconut |
1/3 cup butterscotch chips |
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1/4 cup cream |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Cake: Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add eggs, vanilla, salt, and cloves; beat well. 3. Stir in applesauce. 4. Gradually add flour, mixing well. 5. Stir in butterscotch. 6. Pour into greased and floured 8 x 12 x 2-inch pan. 7. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. 8. Add topping. 9. Topping: Boil all ingredients together until butter and morsels melt. 10. When cake is done, leave in pan; spread topping on cake. 11. Broil 1 minute or so until golden brown. |
