A bit of a cross between a brownie and a cake, this bar is quick and easy and the chips on top add a new flavor. These can be made with peanut butter chips, too, but I like this variation because it is just a bit more unexpected! Read more ! Ingredients:
1 stick butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1t vanilla |
2oz unsweetened chocolate squares, melted |
2/3 cup cold water |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/2t salt |
1/2t baking soda |
12oz butterscotch chips |
Directions:
1. Beat butter and sugar at medium speed until creamy. 2. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until combined 3. Add chocolate til combined 4. Combine dry ingredients and add them alternately with water. 5. Beat well for 3-5 minutes until fluffy and color lightens. 6. Pour into greased jelly roll pan then top with butterscotch chips. 7. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes until bars are springy in the center(more like a cake doneness as compared to underbaking brownies) 8. Cool completely then cut into bars. |
