It does not call for baking powder or soda. Ingredients:
4 cups flour |
1 cup sugar |
1 lb cold butter |
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar. 2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. 3. Knead the dough until smooth, about 6-10 minutes. 4. Pat into an ungreased 15 x 10 inch baking pan. 5. Pierce with a fork. 6. Bake at 325 F for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. 7. Cut into squares while warm. 8. Cool on a wire rack. |
