To be able to catch your own crabs fresh from the water must great. Can you imagine the sweetness of fresh caught crabs? This recipe is from , you guess it, GULLAH HOME COOKING THE DAUFUSKIE WAY. This is quick, easy and tasty. NOTE: I add spice to mine, adding whatever heat I find.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup cooking oil or 1/4 cup bacon grease
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
2 cups crabmeat (lump and claw)
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a skillet. Brown the onions, bell pepper, and celery, then add the crabmeat and stir-fry until the crab is brown. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice or grits, with fresh cornbread on the side.
