A camping recipe. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups plain flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
3/4 cup buttermilk |
3/4 cup milk |
1 cup jam or 1 cup honey |
Directions:
1. Place flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. 2. Make well in the centre, gradually add both milks. 3. Stir till well combined. 4. Turn onto lightly floured surface, divide into 8 pieces. 5. Roll each piece into a 20 cm length. 6. Wrap around a stick. 7. Cook over hot coals, not flames, turning for 10 - 15 minutes. 8. T o serve, remove scone from stick. 9. Spoon jam or honey downthe centre. |
