Profligate son of the Prohibition era, the Scofflaw is a rye and dry vermouth cocktail, with just enough lemon juice and grenadine to keep things respectable. Ingredients:
ice cubes |
1 1/2 fluid ounces rye whiskey |
1 1/2 fluid ounces dry vermouth |
3/4 fluid ounce fresh lemon juice |
1 dash grenadine |
1 dash orange bitters |
Directions:
1. Chill a martini glass in the freezer. Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in whiskey, vermouth, and lemon juice. Add a dash of grenadine and a dash of bitters. Shake well, then strain into the chilled glass. |
