This is a German dessert passed down from my Grandmother to my Mother and on to us girls. Ingredients:
3 egg whites |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon vinegar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. 2. Beat egg whites until very stiff peaks form. Add sugar a tablespoon at a time. After all sugar is beaten into the egg whites add vanilla and vinegar. 3. Bake in a greased 8 inch square pan until little droplets appear, almost 1 hour. 4. Top with fruit and whipped cream. 5. Note: This recipe can easily be doubled and baked in a 9X13 pan. |
