My grandmothers recipe for my favorite cookies. She always makes them around the holidays and are part of my holiday memories. Ingredients:
14 ounces butter |
3/4 cup sugar |
4 cups flour |
1/2 cup finely ground almonds |
1 vanilla bean |
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add nuts, mix in flour. 3. Refrigerate 1/2 hour. 4. Form crescent shaped cookies (or any other shape with cookie cutter) 1/4 thick. 5. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees until lightly browned. 6. Grind vanilla bean and mix with powdered sugar. 7. When cookies are cool, sift sugar mixtures over cookies. |
