SCALLOPED TOMATOES This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crawford Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
2 cups cooked or canned tomatoes |
4 slices toast cut in cubes |
6 drops onion juice |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup melted butter |
Directions:
1. Alternate layers of tomatoes and toast cubes in greased casserole having toast for top layer. 2. Season with onion juice, salt and pepper. 3. Pour over batter and bake at 375 for 20 minutes. |
