Scalloped Potatoes With Bread Crumb Topping |

This is a recipe I came up with by taking my mom's recipe and tweeking it abit here are there. Our family thought it was great before and love it even more now. Enjoy!!! Ingredients:
12 medium potatoes, peeled & sliced |
1/2 cup sliced onion |
1/4 cup butter |
1/4 cup flour |
2 cups milk |
2 cloves garlic, crushed |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 cup cheddar cheese |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese |
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs |
1/3 cup butter, melted |
2 cloves garlic, crushed |
2 tablespoons parsley |
Directions:
1. butter 9 x 13 casserole dish. 2. layer 1/2 potatoes. 3. layer on all of the onions. 4. put on half the cheddar cheese. 5. put on the remaining potatoes. 6. melt butter over medium heat. 7. add flour and cook 1 minute. 8. add milk and cook until sauce is thick and smooth. 9. remove from heat. 10. add garlic, salt, pepper and mustard, stir until smooth. 11. pour on top of potatoes. 12. sprinkle with remaining cheese. 13. bake 375 degrees for 1 hour. 14. CRUMB TOPPING. 15. mix together all the ingrediants. 16. put on once the potatoes are cooked. 17. broil for 3 minutes. |
