My grandmother used to make scalloped oysters for holidays and they were always my favorite. The only way I eat Ritz crackers! Ingredients:
1 pt. oysters |
2 c. cracker crumbs, medium coarse (ritz) |
1/2 c. butter, melted |
1/2 tsp. salt |
dash pepper |
3/4 c. cream |
1/4 c. oyster liquor |
1/4 tsp. worcestershire sauce |
Directions:
1. Drain oysters, saving liquor. 2. Combine crumbs, butter, salt and pepper. 3. Spread 1/3 of buttered crumbs in greased casserole. 4. Cover with 1/2 of the oysters. 5. Using another 1/3 of crumbs, spread second layer 6. cover with remaining oysters. 7. Combine cream, oysters liquor and Worcestershire sauce. 8. Pour over oysters. 9. Top with last of crumbs. 10. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. |
