Scalloped Beef & Macaroni Dinner |

We had this in Canada in the 50's and 60's as well for an easy to prepare dinner. Ingredients:
2 cups macaroni |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 stalk celery, sliced |
1 lb ground beef |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes |
1/2 cup cheese, grated |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1 garlic clove |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon celery salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni. Saute onions, celery & garlic in vegetable oil. Add beef & brown. 2. Stir in flour & seasonings. Add tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Add macaroni. 3. Put into a 2 qt (2.5L) baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. 4. Bake at 350F (180C) about 30 minutes. |
