Take a walk on the sweet side with this flavorful, fruit-packed stuffing bake that is good with most any meat, but especially good with pork dishes. Ingredients:
4 tablespoons butter |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons grated orange peel |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 1/2 cups pepperidge farmĀ® corn bread stuffing |
1/2 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped |
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce |
1/3 cup orange juice or water |
4 large cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced |
Directions:
1. Stir the butter, sugar, orange peel, cinnamon, stuffing and pecans in a medium bowl and set aside. 2. Stir the cranberry sauce, orange juice and apples in a large bowl. Add half of the stuffing mixture and stir lightly to coat. Spoon the apple mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining stuffing mixture evenly over the apple mixture. 3. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 40 minutes or until the apples are tender. |
