This is my family's favorite spaghetti sauce. I used to use a canned sauce, but tried this one night and since then it is the only sauce my family will eat. It is super easy to double or triple and freeze for future use for either spahgetti, lasagna, or any other of your favorite pasta fillers. Easy to make, great flavor. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 large onion, chopped |
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce |
1 garlic clove (i use 1/8tsp dried minced) |
1 bay leaf |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1/2-1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
hot cooked spaghetti |
Directions:
1. In a dutch oven cook ground beef and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender; drain. 2. Add the next eight ingredients; bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. 4. Remove the bay leaf. 5. Serve over spaghetti. |
