Savory Pasta Shells W/ Creamy Crab Filling |

From my collection of handwritten recipes. Note: Make the sauce first or while baking pasta. Ingredients:
1 cup chopped onion |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 cups cottage cheese |
1/4 cup white wine |
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped |
1 cup cooked crab |
salt and pepper |
12 jumbo pasta shells, cooked |
2 cups roma tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1/3 cup white wine |
salt and pepper |
3 tablespoons basil, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350* For shells, saute onion and garlic in butter until tender but not brown; stir in cottage cheese, wine, basil, crab and seasonings. Spoon 2 or 3 Tblsp. of mixture into each shell. Place in buttered baking dish. Bake 20 minutes. Serve warm with the following warm sauce: Saute tomatoes and garlic in oil about 5 minutes; add wine and simmer until liquid has about evaporated. Season to taste; sprinkle with basil just before serving. |
