Delicious, moist meatloaf topped with barbeque sauce or ketchup. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 medium white onion |
1 egg |
3/4 cup ketchup |
1 1/2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper |
1 cup breadcrumbs |
barbecue sauce or ketchup |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Finely dice onion and sweat the onion until translucent. 3. I used ground beef with 30% fat, which I love, but you could use 15/20% fat. Using lean ground beef will take away from the moistness of the meatloaf. 4. Use your hands to form a depression in the ground beef. Add the egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, ground black pepper, bread crumbs or cubed bread and the onions. Work it all together with your hands, but be careful not to overwork the meat. 5. Form into a loaf in your baking dish. Cook at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. You can add ketchup or barbeque sauce to the top of your loaf and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes. 6. Goes great with mashed potatoes and brown sugar glazed carrots. |
