Fresh Green Beans simmered in chicken stock with simple spices. Delicious! Ingredients:
1lb fresh green beans |
1 1/2 cups chicken stock |
1 slice of bacon, cut into small pieces |
salt, pepper, & garlic powder ( i keep a mixture of this in a spice jar for use in seasoning many different types of foods) |
Directions:
1. Trim & cut green beans into 3 inch pieces. 2. Place in colander and rinse. 3. While you do that, fry the bacon pieces in 2 quart pot. 4. Place green beans in the pot with the bacon and melted fat. 5. Cook beans for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 6. Add chicken stock and spices(season to suit your taste) 7. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. |
