The pizza joint in U. S. Steel Tower in Pittsburgh used to make this kick-*ss breakfast pizza, but no longer do. Here is a version you can do at home. Bene! Ingredients:
1 lb. sweet italian sausage - removed from casings |
1 8- oz. pkg. refrigerator crescent rolls or pizza dough |
1 c. frozen hash browns, thawed |
1 c. shredded cheddar |
4 eggs, beaten |
2 t. milk |
salt and pepper to taste |
sprinkling of oregano |
freshly grated parmesan, to taste |
Directions:
1. Cook and drain sausage. Spray a round pizza pan with olive oil and form a pizza shell on the pan. Scatter sausage over dough, sprinkle potatoes over that, and then half the cheddar. Mix egga, milk and seasonings and pour on top of cheese. Scatter the rest of the cheese on top and bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Scatter as much Parmesan as looks good to you and bake until crust is done, cheese is lightly brown, and eggs are set. Let cool 5 minutes, slice and serve. Nice with fresh fruit. |
