This came from I Love New York Cooking For The Holidays. I haven't tried this, just posting for future use.
Ingredients:
2 lbs lean stewing beef, diced
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 ounce onion soup mix (1 envelope)
6 medium potatoes, quartered
3 carrots, sliced
1 onion, sliced
10 ounces condensed cream of celery soup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sherry wine
Directions:
1. Preheat oven 250-300.
2. Put meat in heavy casserole. Sprinkle salt, pepper and onion soup over the meat. Add potatoes, carrots and onions. Combine celery soup, water and sherry.
3. Pour over meat, cover and bake for 5 hours.
