I adapted this recipe from a dish I tried in Savannah, Georgia. Even my kids (who declare that they hate cabbage) asked for more! One of our favorites! Ingredients:
4 cups coarsely chopped cabbage |
1/4 cup finely diced onion |
1 (10 ounce) can cream of celery soup |
1 tablespoon soy sauce |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/3 cup milk |
1 cup boiling water |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, combine cabbage, water, and salt. 2. Boil, covered, for 5 minutes. Drain. 3. Combine soup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and onion in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish and mix well. 4. Melt butter in small dish. 5. Add breadcrumbs and stir. 6. Sprinkle over cabbage mixture. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until browned and bubbly. |
