This is good either as an appetizer or as a side dish, especially with meat or chicken. Ingredients:
1-2 pounds mushrooms, cleaned and cut in half. |
olive oil |
margarine or butter |
dry red wine |
a few good sized cloves of garlic. |
Directions:
1. Clean and cut in half mushrooms 2. put in a good size fry pan and sprinkle with olive oil 3. toss in a dab of margarine or butter. 4. Stir mushrooms around the pan 5. sautee in pan and add fresh garlic. 6. when the mushrooms look like they are cooking, pour red wine over the mushrooms and cook until the wine has evaporated and the garlic has carmelized. 7. NOTE: 8. I often put a cover on the pan to help speed up the cooking of the mushrooms. 9. When done, put on plate. Be sure to get all ove the carmelized garlic too. |
