Another simple side dish with ingredients many home cooks have on hand for this really delicious way of serving onions as a side dish Ingredients:
1 very large sweet white onion, peeled and cut in thin circles |
olive oil, 2 tbs or so |
butter, 2 tbs or so |
balsamic vinegar, 2 tbs or so |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium high heat and saute onions until softened 2. Add the balsamic vinegar and continue to cook until liquids are almost evaporated and onions are very soft and dark colored 3. salt and pepper to taste |
