Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms |

Yummy appetizer-make lots-they won't last long. Ingredients:
24 mushrooms, remove and chop stems |
1/2 lb italian sausage |
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1/4 cup provolone cheese, shredded |
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
Directions:
1. In skillet, cook sausage, stirring to separate, add some chopped stems, onions, garlic, salt and pepper and cook until sausage is browned and mushrooms are tender. Spoon off fat. (If sausage is not separate enough, pulse in Cuisinart to separate) Stir in cheese, bread crumbs and egg. 2. Stuff mushrooms and lightly brush with melted butter. Arrange on rack in broiler and broil 4 inches from heat until lightly browned. |
