SAUSAGE SANDWICHES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Merit Estate in Richardson, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
1/2 pound bulk italian sausage |
2 tablespoons chopped onion |
1/4 cup catsup |
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano crushed |
2 single french rolls split |
2 slices mozzarella cheese |
Directions:
1. Crumble sausage into a 1 quart casserole then stir in onion. 2. Microwave on high for 4 minutes stirring once. 3. Pour off fat and stir in catsup and oregano. 4. Microwave 2 minutes longer then place roll bottom on a paper towel lined plate and spoon sausage mixture on top of each roll. 5. Top with cheese and top of roll. 6. Place back in microwave for 1 minute to allow cheese to melt. |
