You can serve this over pasta or use it for something else. Ingredients:
1 lb italian turkey sausage link, casings removed |
1 medium onion, thinly sliced |
1 medium sweet red pepper, julienned |
1 medium green pepper, julienned |
1 teaspoon olive oil or 1 teaspoon canola oil |
1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes |
1 cup chicken broth |
5 tablespoons tomato paste |
3 teaspoons sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
pasta, to serve over (optional) |
Directions:
1. Crumble sausage into a skillet and add the onion, peppers and oil. Cook over medium heat until the sausage is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender; drain. 2. Add the tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, sugar, basil and garlic powder; heat through. 3. Serve over pasta if desired. |
