As with most meatloaf, the left-overs make great sandwiches. Ingredients:
1 large egg |
1/4 cup whole milk |
1 lb bulk pork sausage (hot is preferred) |
3/4 cup crushed saltine crackers |
1/4 cup finely chopped onion |
fresh ground pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. 2. Add in the sausage, crackers, onion, and pepper; mix well using your hands to incorporate ingredients. 3. Place mixture in a lightly greased 8x4x2 inch loaf pan. 4. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 1 hour or until sausage is no longer pink. 5. Pour off excess grease. 6. Let stand for 5 minutes; remove from pan and slice. |
