I came across this recipe . This site has lots of good southern cooking. This recipe really caught my eye. Sounds delicious! Ingredients:
1 lb hot pork sausage |
12 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded |
3 eggs, beaten |
1 1/2 cups milk |
3 tablespoons butter |
3 cups grits, cooked |
1 small onion, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cook the sausage and onion in a skillet until sausage is done. 3. Drain. 4. Spread sausage evenly in a lightly greased baking dish. 5. Cook grits according to the package directions. Add cheese and butter. Stir until cheese and butter are melted. 6. Beat eggs and milk together and stir into grits. 7. Pour over sausage. 8. Bake for 1 hour. |
