Tart sauerkraut with the sausage is a good mix. Ingredients:
2 lbs polish sausage |
1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut, drained |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 cup chopped onion |
1/2 cup chopped green pepper |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 bay leaf |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Cut sausage in 1-1/2 inch slices. 2. Saute in Dutch oven until browned. 3. Add sauerkraut, and all remaining ingredients; mix well. 4. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. 5. Remove bay leaf. |
